The Rusk County Office of Emergency Management will be hosting CERT Basic Training Classes beginning Tuesday, January 7th, continuing January 14th, 21st, and 28th.  Classes begin at 6PM and run until 10PM at the Rusk County ESD #1 Training Room located at 1515 Whippoorwill in Henderson.

This training will cover areas such as:

• CERT Organization
• Disaster Preparedness
• Medical First Aid
• Fire Safety and Utility Controls
• Disaster Psychology
• Light Search and Rescue

CERT is a nationally recognized model for community preparedness that teaches citizens how to prepare for and respoond to anticipated disruptions following a disaster.  Citizens will also learn how to support their local first responders during and after a disaster. 

Anyone interested in being better prepared to help during a time of disaster is welcome to become a part of the Rusk County CERT Program.
